(Sports Network) - The New York Yankees should have Alex Rodriguez back in the lineup this evening when they open up what is now an abbreviated two-game series against the surprising Baltimore Orioles at Yankee Stadium. Rodriguez sat out Sundays finale against the Boston Red Sox with flu-like symptoms, but was listed on the lineup card for Tuesdays opener before the contest was rained out. No makeup date for that game has been announced. The Yankees could have used the three-time AL MVPs bat in that contest against the Red Sox, as they were shut down by Josh Beckett and denied a series win in a 4-0 loss. Although he allowed only one run in 5 1/3 innings, starter CC Sabathia struggled, as he gave up nine hits and walked four. It was pretty much not being able to get ahead, Sabathia said. Even when I did get ahead it turned around, the count ended up being 2-1; a lot of hitters counts. A.J. Burnett heads to the hill for the Yankees tonight, trying for his third win of the season. After surrendering three runs in five innings in his season debut, Burnett beat the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, as he allowed two runs and five hits in six innings. He has also struck out 11 in his 11 innings this season. I felt good out there and felt like I got stronger as things went on, said Burnett, who pitched with a cold in his first outing against Detroit. Being able to breathe in here is nice and it was a big difference from the other day. Burnett, coming off the worst statistical season of any Yankee starter ever, should be able to keep his early season roll going, as he has owned the Orioles over the course of his career. In 18 starts against them he is 11-4 with a 4.47 ERA. Baltimore, meanwhile, has won six of its first nine games out of the gate, but dropped two of three over the weekend to the defending American League champion Texas Rangers, culminating with a 3-0 loss on Sunday at Camden Yards. Jeremy Guthrie (1-1) gave up just one run on four hits in six full frames for the Orioles, who were trying to start a season 7-2 for the first time since 1998. You face a team with those type of hitters, I think it doesnt matter what youve done, whether you felt unbelievable or been in the hospital with pneumonia, Guthrie said. You feel real pleased to get out of that game with a few hits and one run allowed. Tonight, the Orioles turn to soon-to-be 23-year-old righty Chris Tillman, who is still searching for his first win of the season. Tillman did not allow a hit over six scoreless innings in his season debut against Tampa, but was hit hard his next time out. The Tiger reached the young hurler for four runs and six hits in 4 2/3 frames, but Tillman escaped without a decision. Tillman, who has faced the Yankees three times and is 1-1 with a 5.52 ERA, could have trouble slowing down New York second baseman Robinson Cano. In seven at-bats against Tillman, Cano has six hits and he batted .444 with five home runs and 12 RBI against the Orioles last season. Cano has also hit safely in his last 12 games against the Orioles, and his 65 hits against them the last two seasons are the most of any big leaguer in a two-season stint against them since Nellie Fox (67) in 1955-56. Baltimore manager Buck Showalter, who piloted the Yankees from 1992-95, will be making his first appearance in New York since his critical remarks about Derek Jeter in a recent Mens Journal article. New York won 13 of its 18 matchups with the Orioles last season, including seven of the nine meetings in the Bronx. The Yankees have also managed at least 11 wins against the Orioles in nine of the last 10 years. cheap nfl jerseys . Russia began the defence of its title with a 6-0 win over Latvia. The defending champion aced the 133-yard second hole with a pitching wedge and finished with a 3-under 69 in swirling wind conditions to reach 7 under at Sunrise Golf and Country Club. "I called the shot. I hit it exactly how I wanted and was fortunate enough that I had a good break," the Norwegian star said. "It was a very good shot. Its nice to get a hole in one when you actually call the shot in advance and then pull the trigger." The second-ranked Pettersen was the only player in the 78-player field to break par in each round. "Today was a really tough day," Pettersen said. "The wind got stronger and stronger and its definitely not easy out there. The wind and the conditions test every aspect of the game. I mean, even an 80-yard shot, its challenging enough to control the spin and know what the ball is going to do. Standing over putts, you feel the wind on the body. Its a mental test out there but its a fun challenge. Ive been playing really solid golf, and Im excited too be where Im at after two days.dddddddddddd" She has three LPGA Tour victories this year, winning in Portland, Ore., and France in consecutive starts last month, and also won a Ladies European Tour event this year in China. "I think Im just getting to the point in my career that Id better just enjoy what I do," Pettersen said. "Im tough enough on myself that, I mean, I can grind it out on the course and kind of be focused. But Im trying to enjoy this ride, because I guess Im maturing and you actually realize that you are fortunate to do what you do." South Koreas Sun Young Yoo of South Korea and Spains Carlota Ciganda were tied for second. Yoo had a 69, and Ciganda shot 70. "I knew it was going to be windy today, so I just focused on where I want to start the ball, instead of focusing to getting close to the pin," Yoo said. Taiwanese star Yani Tseng, the 2011 winner, followed her opening 76 with a 78 to drop 17 strokes back. Winless in 41 LPGA Tour since the 2012 Kia Classic, she has tumbled from first to 25th in the world ranking in seven months. Torontos Rebecca Lee-Bentham is tied for 45th at 7-over 151. cheap nfl jerseys \' \' \'
