Kevin Clark scored the eventual winner in the second period as the IceCaps defeated the Worcester Sharks 3-2 on Friday night in the American Hockey League. IceCaps head coach Keith McCambridge believes the teams strong start to the game was critical. "I think our start was key for us," McCambridge said. "Thats something we talked about as a team, making sure were coming out on our home ice with that compete level." The Sharks tied the game early in the second period when recent acquisition Tim Kennedy made a slick behind-the-back pass to Connolly who made no mistake from the slot. St. Johns defenceman Postma put the home team back in front when he blasted a point shot through traffic on the power play at 5:25. Postma says he was frustrated after allowing the Sharks back in the game with Connollys tying goal. "Just kind of a minor breakdown in our D-zone from a lack of communication. There were some chirps on the other bench directed at me, obviously I didnt like that too much, so I wanted to go out there and get it back." Clarks winner came after Jason Gregoires shot turned into a huge rebound for Clark who calmly corralled the puck, moved around Sateri and put it upstairs for a 3-1 lead. Combs added a goal for Worcester with only 1:09 left to play. Chad Costello got the puck to Combs, who beat IceCaps starter Ed Pasquale on the 2-on-1. Pasquale made 23 saves in the win, Sateri finished with 28 saves in the loss. St. Johns went 1-for-5 on the power play, while the Sharks finished 0-for-2.
