Blank Jersey . The Blackhawks won it all for the first time since 1961 last spring, but an offseason salary purge contributed to Chicago just making the playoffs as the Wests eighth seed. Joel Quennevilles club now finds itself down 2-0 after dropping both games of the best-of-seven series in Vancouver. Chicago is 4-31 all-time when falling behind two games to none in a series. The last time Chicago came back from an 0-2 deficit to win a playoff series was in the 1995 conference quarterfinals against Toronto. Meanwhile, the Canucks, winners of the Presidents Trophy, will try to keep the pressure on tonight as they try to avoid getting knocked out of the playoffs by Chicago for a third straight spring. The Blackhawks beat Vancouver in the Western Conference semifinals in each of the last two postseasons, claiming both series in six games. Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo posted a shutout in Vancouvers 2-0 triumph in Game 1, but the Blackhawks gave the hosts a tougher test on Friday. Daniel Sedin had two goals and an assist as the Canucks held on for the 4-3 win at Rogers Arena. The Sedin brothers were held without a point in Game 1, but combined for five points on Friday. Henrik Sedin finished Game 2 with a pair of assists. "It was good to get the victory in both home games cause that is a championship team over there," said Daniel Sedin. "Weve been staying out of the box and that has been key for us." Luongo, who stopped 32 shots in the first game for his second playoff shutout, made 23 stops. Ben Smith lit the lamp twice while Viktor Stalberg scored the other goal for the Blackhawks, who trailed by scores of 2-0, 3-1 and 4-2 in Game 2, but fought back to within one goal each time. However, Chicago never was able to tie the game after Jannik Hansen scored for the Canucks at 7:30 of the opening period. Chicago rookie goaltender Corey Crawford was touched for four goals on 27 shots in the loss. "We didnt get the win but well move forward and look forward to Sunday," said Smith. On the injury front for Chicago, forwards Bryan Bickell (right wrist) and Tomas Kopecky (upper body) are questionable for today. Bickell was injured in Game 2, while Kopecky was hurt in the opener on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Canucks forward Mikael Samuelsson sat out Game 2 with the flu and is questionable for todays test. However, the Canucks could have Raffi Torres back today, as the forward has completed serving a four-game suspension for elbowing Edmontons Jordan Eberle late in the regular season. Torres is still questionable for tonight after battling recently with a bout of food poisoning. The Blackhawks, who will host Game 4 on Tuesday, had a strong 24-17-0 record as the home team this season and were 8-3 at United Center during last years playoffs. The Canucks had an excellent 27-10-4 as the road club this season. Chicago and Vancouver have met two other times in the postseason in addition to their 2009 and 2010 semifinal bouts, and the Blackhawks own a 3-1 edge all- time against the Canucks in the playoffs. Rickie Lambert Shirts . The six-foot-five defenceman was late joining practice after undergoing a medical but his teammates made sure his return was noted. It seemed a combination "Good to have you back" and "What took you so long?" "Hes a big part of this team," said defence partner Mark Fraser. Oussama Assaidi Jersey . Mata had already been dropped from Spains squad once this season and with the country blessed with so many playmakers, he was in real danger of being overlooked for the trip to Brazil to defend their title.PHILADELPHIA -- A.J. Burnett and Marlon Byrd were the two acquisitions the Philadelphia Phillies were hoping would help them get back to the post-season. Well, they helped them get a win in a season going nowhere. Burnett threw 7 1-3 sharp innings, Byrd hit a three-run homer and the Phillies beat the San Diego Padres 5-2 on Tuesday night. "Create some momentum. We just have to carry it over into tomorrow," manager Ryne Sandberg said. Back from a 1-5 trip that left them tied with the Cubs for the worst record in the NL, the Phillies opened a six-game homestand with only their 13th win at Citizens Bank Park. Burnett (4-5) allowed two runs and three hits to earn his first win since May 20. "It all starts with our pitching," Burnett said. "If we hold them down and give our guys a chance, the better off well be." Jonathan Papelbon left the bases loaded in a scoreless ninth to record his 300th career save, becoming the 26th pitcher to reach that mark. He has 14 consecutive saves after blowing his first try. "It was tough because I didnt feel that emotion in a while," Papelbon said. "It means a lot to me, more than most people would think." Will Venable hit a solo homer for San Diego. Starter Ian Kennedy (5-7) gave up five runs and seven hits in seven innings. Kennedy retired the first nine batters before Ben Revere lined a double to right to start Philadelphias fourth. Chase Utleys RBI single tied it at 1. After Ryan Howard singled, Byrd hit an opposite-field shot into the seats in right-centre field for a 4-1 lead. "It seems theres always one pitch youd like to take back and that was the pitch," Kennedy said. "Not a good location." Utley and Howard hit consecutive singles before Byrd drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth to make it 5-1. That was enough for Burnett, who shook off his recent struggles and was in control throughout. The righty was 1-4 with a 7.25 ERA in his previous six starts. Burnett waalked two after issuing 10 in his last two starts. Mamadou Sakho Shirts. "It looked like he was throwing more strikes and he had some contact outs early in counts," Sandberg said. "He also mixed in some two-seam fastballs, which worked for him in getting ground-ball outs to left-handed hitters." Burnett only threw 89 pitches before giving way to Jake Diekman, who got the final two outs in the eighth on strikeouts. Diekman reached 100 mph on one of his fastballs. "I dont like to come out of a game, period," Burnett said. "But he throws a little harder than me." The Padres took a 1-0 lead in the third when Venable lined a 3-1 pitch into the seats in right for only his second homer in 179 at-bats. Venable hit a career-high 22 homers last season. The light-hitting Padres entered with the worst batting average in the majors at .218. Carlos Quentin snapped an 0-for-24 slump with a seventh-inning double. But Everth Cabrera (0 for 18) and Jace Peterson (0 for 18) were 0 for 5 to extend their hitless streaks. Quentin scored on Yonder Alonsos sacrifice fly to cut it to 5-2.
