Rodrigue Beaubois, PG, Dallas - Jason Kidd is out with a calf strain, to say nothing of simply getting on in years, but it has allowed the speedy Beaubois to slide into the starting lineup, where hes averaged 18.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg and 7.0 apg. The 6-foot-2 point guard has also blocked 14 shots in the last six games. If the Mavs want to give Kidd lots of rest this season, Beaubois seems more than capable of filling in and playing those minutes. Tyrus Thomas, PF, Charlotte - Thomas has started 13 of the 14 games in which hes appeared this season, but hes getting more minutes now, playing at least 31 minutes in each of the last four games. The results have been mixed -- 9.8 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.3 bpg, 39.5 FG% in the last four -- but there arent a lot of frontcourt options for the Bobcats, so Thomas has an opportunity to sink or swim. Marvin Williams, SF, Atlanta - He may forver be maligned for being drafted second overall in 2005, ahead of Deron Williams and Chris Paul, but Marvin Williams is filling a role for the Hawks. Hes increased his value this season by expanding his range; hes hit 50.0% of his three-point attempts and, with 10 in the last three games, is now averaging more than one made three-pointer per game -- a mark hes never held for a full season. Linas Kleiza, SF, Toronto - In his last five games, Kleiza has scored 16, 5, 25, 2 and 15 points, so consistency hasnt found its way into the mix, but whats important is that he is getting minutes (27:05 per game in the last five) and hes contributing on the glass with six rebounds per game in the last five. with Andrea Bargnani out, Kleiza has an opportunity to expand his role as a scorer in the Raptors frontcourt.
