for three years and for his lone season in Ch  发帖心情 Post By:2015-3-11 9:33:56

WINNIPEG -- Chants of "Teemu" started before the national anthems even began in Winnipeg. Filipe Luis Jersey . When the scoreboard video camera zoomed in on the Ducks bench, Teemu Selanne stood up and turned around waving to the cheering Jets fans before Winnipegs 5-3 victory over Anaheim on Saturday. "Theres always a big piece of Winnipeg people in my heart," Selanne said. "Thats very important." Selanne was even cheered when he touched the puck while his teammates were booed, a testament to the fans adoration of the 19-year veteran whose career began with the old Winnipeg franchise. "I think its great to see the city appreciate talent like that and to honour somebody that was a big part of the Jets history," said Mike Krentz, one of many fans sporting a No. 13 Jets jersey with Selannes name on the back. Fans then gave him a standing ovation when a video tribute was shown welcoming him back to Winnipeg, while one fan held up a sign that said, "Teemu we forgive u come home." Another sign read "Psst ... HEY ... TEEMU WRONG JERSEY". "He was an all-round good guy," said the 36-year-old Krentz during the first intermission. "Good skill, nice in the community, his smiling face." Selanne assisted on two goals for Anaheim in the loss. He said the game ranked up there as one of his best memories, along with playing this years first regular-season game in his native Helsinki, Finland. "Every time when I was on the ice I really enjoyed it," he said. "Obviously the support, it was awesome." Seeing the signs in the stand during the warmup, as well as people wearing his old No. 13 Jets jersey, brought back fond memories. "I felt everybodys watching me so it was special," he said. He said it feels like hes come full-circle in his career. "This was a dream come true to come back and play here one more time," he said. "Like I said, it was unbelievable." Selannes wife and four children were in the stands. Selanne said it was good that his three hockey-playing sons could see a game where theres a lot of "passion" compared to their home in California. "We were pretty impressed with the way the crowd responded to him, and rightfully so," Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf said. "It says everything that we already know about him. Hes one of the best humans that we know. Its not just about the on-ice stuff, its about the way he is in the community and the way he is with his fans and friends. Hes a pretty likable guy." Added Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau: "That was pretty chilling. Take the game away and it was pretty emotional. I can only imagine what Teemu was feeling during the first 10 minutes of the game." The crowd was so electric during the games opening that the players on the ice had a tough time communicating. "To be honest with you it was hard as heck to be out there," Jets goaltender Chris Mason said. "At the beginning of the game youre trying to communicate with your D men, but it was kind of pointless because I could barely even hear myself. It was pretty cool, though, to see what (Selanne) means to the city and how high he holds Winnipeg in his heart." The 41-year-old right-winger began his NHL career with the Jets in 1992-93, setting rookie records with 76 goals and 132 points during a campaign fans have never forgotten. Selanne said earlier this week he was looking forward to saying a proper goodbye to Winnipeg fans. The Finnish Flash was traded to the Ducks in February 1996 and didnt get to move with the Jets when they relocated to Phoenix at the end of that season and became the Coyotes. Selanne was later traded to San Jose and also played for Colorado before returning to Anaheim in 2005. Selanne leads the Ducks with 33 points (10 goals, 23 assists) in what may be his final season before retiring. Fernando Torres Jersey . Jones had to work hard against Korean skip Kim Jisun and didnt hold a lead until the seventh end. Jones, lead Dawn McEwen, second Jill Officer and third Kaitlyn Lawes were 8-0 going into the game and had already clinched a berth in the semifinals. Nemanja Matic Chelsea Jersey .C. - The New Orleans Saints will have to wait another week for a chance to clinch a playoff spot.Toronto Rock defender Cam Woods has officially announced his retirement after 14 seasons in the National Lacrosse League, the last six of those were spent with the Rock. Woods started his career with the Albany Attack and then moved with the franchise to San Jose. He was a member of the Chicago Shamrox for one season in 2007 before coming to Toronto in 2008. He was the captain in Albany for three of his four seasons and also wore the "C" in San Jose for three years and for his lone season in Chicago. "The competitive fire is still burning but my body just isnt in the kind of shape that allows me to compete at the level I want to anymore," said an emotional Woods. "I feel like I have been at 80 to 85 percent and just getting to that level has been a struggle for me recently. The inability to compete at the level I want to be at was the deal breaker. "I have been playing since I was 11-years old, now that its over it will be a tough adjustment but I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life and spending more time with my family." The 37-year old played in 3 NLL championship games, two with the Rock (2010, 2011) and one against the Rock as a member of the Albany Attack (2002). Woods captured the NLL Champions Cup with Toronto in 2011. He was also named the NLLs top defensive player in 2004 while playing with the Attack. "The Champions Cup was the one that had eludedd me," recalled Woods who has also won a pair of Mann Cup Canadian Senior "A" Championships. Mohamed Salah Chelsea Jersey. "Sharing that championship with some great people at home in Toronto is the one I will cherish the most. I have pictures from that night, on the floor with my family and Ill have that ring and those memories forever." Woods also mentioned that his first experience playing for Team Canada in Australia at the World Field Lacrosse Championships in 2002 was a career highlight. "Hearing OCanada being played so far away from home was a proud moment." During his career, Woods logged 233 games and scored 57 goals, added 117 assists for 174 points along with 1243 loose balls. "I want to thank all the people in Toronto," said Woods. "Thank you to all of my teammates that I have gone to battle with, the front office staff with the Rock and everyone behind the scenes, it is a real family atmosphere with the Rock. The training staff, the coaches and (Rock Owner & President) Jamie (Dawick) have all supported me so much through the years and I am forever grateful for the opportunities and memories." "Cam is a leader that will be sorely missed," said Dawick. "He is a professional and a class act. Everything he brought to this franchise both on and off the floor will not be easily replaced. He is a warrior, a teammate and a true friend." cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '
