NEW YORK -- Tight end Jeff Cumberland signed his one-year tender offer to return to the New York Jets on Monday, possibly as the starter to replace the departed Dustin Keller. Cumberland is expected to have a more prominent role in the offence after setting career highs last year in his third NFL season with 29 catches for 359 yards and three touchdowns. His playing time increased after Keller, who signed with Miami as a free agent, went down with a sprained left ankle. The tender signed by Cumberland is worth $1.3 million. "Blessed to continue my NFL career with the (at)nyjets first class organization!" Cumberland wrote on his Twitter page. "BIG year ahead!" The Jets signed the 25-year-old Cumberland as an undrafted free agent in 2010 out of Illinois. Notes: Backup QB Tim Tebow, likely to be released or traded in the next few weeks, is expected to report for voluntary workouts when they begin next Monday, the New York Post first reported. The Pacers, who are opening up a three-game road trip tonight that will also include stops in Toronto and New York, dropped their fourth straight on Tuesday when Thaddeus Young finished with 18 points and nine rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers held off a late Indiana run to the Pacers, 110-100, at Conseco Fieldhouse.
