The Winnipeg Goldeyes were named the American Associations Organization of the Year for the 2013 season on Tuesday, as voted upon by the leagues 13 managers and members of the media. It marks the third consecutive season the Goldeyes have won the award. "Its an honour to once again be recognized by our brothers in the American Association for this award," Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier said. "Its a credit to the amount of time and effort our front office staff puts in throughout the year and the amazing support we receive from our great fans." Winnipeg once again led the American Association and all independent baseball teams in attendance with an average crowd of 5,880 fans per game in 2013. On the field, the Goldeyes finished with the fourth-best record in the league at 56-44, but fell two-and-a-half games short of making the playoffs. Going back to the Northern League, Winnipeg has won the Organization of the Year Award eight times in the last 11 years. The Goldeyes have claimed the award in all three season they have been in the American Association.
