Its a good thing they didnt. Hes been a terrific player for them, and its only fitting that he scored the lone goal of Game 3 against the Vancouver Canucks as he played really well in all three zones on Sunday. A lot of people in Vancouver will be talking about Browns hit on Henrik Sedin early in the second period. There was no penalty on the play and theres a reason for that: there was no principle point of contact to the head. Sedin did not see Brown coming, but that doesnt necessarily mean that he was vulnerable or unsuspecting in the sense of it being a rule violation. It was not charging; it was not elbowing; it was not late. If you go down the checklist of things you look for in a hit, you couldnt give him a penalty or a suspension. It was just a good hard hit that set the tone for the Kings and signaled they are going to take no prisoners when it comes to the Vancouver Canucks, and with Dustin Brown coming back and getting scoring the Kings goal, it was almost fitting from his perspective.dddddddddddd Penguins lack of discipline and focus against Flyers was systemic The lack of discipline, focus and composure from the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 3 on Sunday was systemic. We saw it in the first period and again in the second when Chris Kunitz took a couple of penalties that resulted in two goals against. At the time, the Penguins were getting back into the game, but those goals hurt them. In the third period, James Neal went after Claude Giroux, which led to the Flyers going after Sidney Crosby. From there, the game slid down a slippery slope. Despite all the shenanigans and sideshow stuff, the bottom line is this: after three games, the Penguins arent who we thought they were. Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has been terrible so far, and the club hasnt got big performances from either Crosby or Evgeni Malkin, whove been outplayed by their counterparts Giroux and Danny Briere. The series isnt over until its over, but the Penguins need to regroup in a big way.
