COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M quarterback Trevor Knight is out for the regular season because of an injury to his throwing shoulder, Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin said on Tuesday.Sumlin said Knights injury will not require surgery.Knight, who started all nine of Texas A&Ms games this season, injured himself while diving for a touchdown in the second quarter of the Aggies 35-28 loss to Mississippi State on Saturday. Knight returned to the game briefly in the second quarter but did not play in the second half. He was in street clothes and a sling for the remainder of the afternoon.The Aggies will start junior Jake Hubenak for the remainder of the regular season, starting with Ole Miss on Saturday at Kyle Field (7:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network).Sumlin said Knight is not yet ruled out for Texas A&Ms bowl game; if he recovers quickly enough, he could return for that game.Knight is responsible for 23 touchdowns this season (13 passing, 10 rushing) and was one of the biggest reasons the Aggies debuted at No. 4 in this seasons first set of College Football Playoff rankings. He is a fifth-year senior who came to Texas A&M in January as a graduate transfer. He won the starting quarterback job following spring practice.Hubenak has one career start -- in 2015s Music City Bowl loss to Louisville. He has thrown 38 pass attempts this season, completing 60.5 percent for 350 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception.
