Hudson is making his season debut after recovering from surgery in November to repair a herniated disc in his back. The right-hander had discomfort in his back the past two seasons, and the surgery was scheduled after the pain became worse during his off-season workouts. Hudson was 16-10 with a 3.22 ERA last season. He allowed one run and six hits in 5 2-3 innings in his final rehab start with Gwinnett.
