Oilers captain Andrew Ference plays his first game against his old team tonight as Edmonton hosts the Boston Bruins at Rexall Place. Ted Ginn Jr Jersey . The Oilers are 3-1-1 so far in December and are coming off Tuesdays 5-4 overtime win against visiting Carolina. Jordan Eberles power-play goal 1:48 into the extra session saved two points for the Oilers, who led the game by a 4-1 score early in the second period before letting the Hurricanes back into the contest. The Oilers coughed up a 4-1 lead over a period and a half, with Jeff Skinners goal late in the third tying it for Carolina. But Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk was sent off 19 seconds into overtime, penalized for boarding after hitting Ryan Nugent-Hopkins from behind in the corner to give the Oilers a 4- on-3. Eberle then scored on a second-chance shot through the legs of Carolina defenseman Andrej Sekera, who was covering the net on the left side for Cam Ward. "It was a weird game but we found a way to win," Eberle said. Taylor Hall, Nail Yakupov, Jesse Joensuu and Nugent-Hopkins also scored for the Oilers, who moved to 2-1-1 on a five-game homestand that ends tonight. Devan Dubnyk made 24 saves for Tuesdays win and he could get the start again on Thursday. Dubnyk is 0-2-0 with a 4.57 goals against average in two career games against the Bruins, while Rask boasts a 3-0 record and a 1.67 GAA in three lifetime outings versus the Oilers. The Bruins take aim at a fourth consecutive victory when they continue a four-game road trip. The Bruins picked up a third win in a row and improved to 2-0 on their current swing with Tuesdays comeback win in Calgary. Boston scored a pair of goals late in the third period to rally for a 2-1 win on the night Jarome Iginla returned to the Saddledome. Boston made Iginlas return to Calgary a triumphant one, as the club overcame a 1-0 third-period deficit to win in regulation. Reilly Smith potted the game- winner for the Bruins with 4:33 left to play, a mere 98 seconds after David Krejci recorded the equalizer with the Bruins on the power play. Iginla, the Flames all-time leader in goals (525), points (1,095) and games played (1,219), faced the club he spent 16 highly productive seasons with for the first time since Calgary traded its longtime captain to Pittsburgh during last Aprils trade deadline. The revered 36-year-old received a warm and rousing ovation from the home crowd during postgame introductions. "It brought back a lot of great memories," Iginla said of his return. Tuukka Rask stopped 26-of-27 shots to help Boston improve to 13-3-1 over its last 17 games, a stretch that has vaulted the Bruins into first place in the Atlantic Division. Boston won on Tuesday despite playing without a handful of players due to injuries, and another because of an impending suspension. Defensemen Dougie Hamilton and Adam McQuaid missed the last game with lower- body injuries, while forwards Loui Eriksson (concussion), Daniel Paille (upper body) and Chris Kelly (broken ankle) also sat out with various ailments. All of those players are expected to miss Thursdays game, including Hamilton, who will miss 2-to-4 weeks after suffering an injury in Sundays win at Toronto. Meanwhile, Bruins forward Shawn Thornton is facing a suspension for his actions in Saturdays win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Thornton, who grabbed Brooks Orpik of the Penguins from behind during a scrum and began punching him, is scheduled to have an in-person hearing with the league on Friday and he could be suspended for six or more games. Even with a short-handed lineup, the Bruins hope to continue their dominance of the Oilers on Thursday. Boston has won 10 straight in this series overall and has taken four in a row and 10 of the last 13 meetings in Edmonton. Boston is 8-5-0 on the road this season and will complete its current trek in Saturdays game against Vancouver. White Rashad Johnson Mens Elite Jersey . You watch the game live on TSN at 7pm et/4pm pt or listen live on TSN Radio 690 Montreal. The Canadiens have won three straight and six of their past seven games, pushing them two points ahead of Tampa Bay for second place in the Atlantic Division. Frostee Rucker Jersey . A CFL source told TSNs Matthew Scianitti that Smith will re-sign with the Toronto Argonauts.MONACO -- Fernando Alonso took a liking to the Pirelli super-soft tires by posting the quickest time in Thursdays second practice session for the Monaco Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton just behind him. Alonso had been second behind defending F1 champion Sebastian Vettels Red Bull in the first practice, but the Ferrari driver shaved more than a second off his morning session time as drivers tried the super soft optional tires under a hot afternoon sun. Vettel finished the afternoon run in fifth. Alonso had a best lap of one minute 15.123 seconds, compared to his morning mark of 1:16.732 on the prime soft tires. "It seems we are a bit more competitive than elsewhere (this season), although one has to adopt the usual caution linked to the unknown factor of how much fuel the others were running," Alonso said. "I immediately felt comfortable here, right from the morning, so I was able to push harder and harder." Hamilton clocked 1:15.228 in his McLaren, and Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg was again third in 1:15.321. "I love the track, I love the weather. Its a beautiful place to be," said Hamilton, who trails Vettel in the drivers championship by 41 points. "Im really pleased with the balance of the car and I kept out of trouble, but its going to be close here." Hamiltons teammate Jenson Button was fourth in 1:15.448 ahead of Vettel, whose best was 1:15.667 compared to 1:16.619 on primes in the morning. Vettel completed 46 laps, more than most in the second session. "The super soft tire seems to be the preferred one for qualifying, it seems to be quicker and you can extract more lap time out of it," Vettel said. "The car looks competitive, but everyone is close to each other so it looks tight." Alonsos form will give the struggling Ferrari team confidence it can challenge the dominant Red Bulls in Saturdays qualifying, although he thinks Red Bull may have something in reserve. "I am pleased, but we know this is just the first day and that the Red Bulls could be hiding a bit," Alonso said. "Saturday will be a much more stressful day because the slightest error carries a heavy penalty. We must try to take some risks, because we need to close the gap." Alonso is already 67 points behind Vettel. The Spaniard needs to show similar form in qualifying to assure a good spot on the grid to challenge Vettel early in the race. Red Bull has started from pole position in every race so far, and Vettel has won four of the opening five, with Alonso giving Ferrari its sole podium place when he finished third in Turkey. Alonso had come close to beating Vettel in the morning, too, and he carried that confidence over by setting the pace early in his afternoon run. Deone Bucannon Jersey. But he had a near miss when he almost hit the back of teammate Felipe Massas car. Massa finished sixth fastest in a haphazard performance which saw the Brazilian twice narrowly avoid slamming into the barriers. "There were moments when I was a bit on the limit," Massa said. "I did a long run on the option (tires) to try and find its limit in terms of wear." Russian driver Vitaly Petrov momentarily lost control of his Renault coming out of the Monaco tunnel, and his front wing flew off as it bashed against the circuit barriers. He ended up 11th fastest. The morning had been even more action-packed, with a water leak on the track delaying the drivers for a few minutes as repairs were carried out on the tarmac. When Vettel came out for a few laps near the end he drove with his customary aggression and composure. Alonso looked certain to set the fastest time after overtaking Rosbergs mark, but Vettel stepped it up with a commanding final lap as drivers enjoyed idyllic racing conditions under perfect blue skies that continued long into the day. Rosberg was third in 1:17.139, which was a small comfort for Mercedes after Michael Schumacher spun into a wall after a turn at Ste Devote. The seven-time former F1 champion got out of his car and was unhurt and then finished seventh in the afternoon. "I locked up braking for turn one. After that, my decision to go down the escape road was too late, which is why I hit the barrier," Schumacher said. "The mechanics did a super job and the car this afternoon was just as quick as this morning." Schumacher, who holds the lap record in Monaco but has been scrambling to find his form this season, improved from 10th to seventh in the second session. Vettels Red Bull teammate Mark Webber of Australia, who won in Monaco ahead of Vettel last year, had gearbox problems and did not set a morning time after a few warmup laps. "We had an electrical issue that affected gear changing," Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said. Webber, who was eighth in the second session, needs a boost of confidence in Monaco after failing to finish on the podium at last weekends Spanish Grand Prix, despite starting from pole position. In another boost for Ferrari, Massa was fourth in the morning session ahead of Hamilton and Button -- both former F1 champions and former winners in Monaco. Hamilton was looking particularly good, but he got held up by traffic and could not get a clean lap to show his true pace. cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '
