FALL RIVER, Mass. -- A court appearance in Massachusetts by an associate of former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez who has been charged as an accessory to murder has been delayed. A hearing for Carlos Ortiz in Fall River Superior Court scheduled for Wednesday has been rescheduled for Jan. 9. His attorney says he received a large amount of evidence from prosecutors and wants to go through it. Ortiz has pleaded not guilty to accessory after the fact and is being held on $500,000 cash bail. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating the sister of Hernandezs girlfriend. Prosecutors say Ortiz and associate Ernest Wallace were with Hernandez and Lloyd on the night Lloyd was shot near Hernandezs North Attleborough home.
