give him 57 points on the season  发帖心情 Post By:2015-4-30 9:09:32

Tyler Bozak and Dave Bolland have accounted for 65 per cent of all Toronto Maple Leafs faceoffs thus far this season. With the pair of centres on the shelf for the immediate future, the team is searching for options to carry the load. Bozak has been out since incurring a hamstring injury in a loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on October 25. He was placed on long-term injured reserve and isnt eligible to return until November 21st when the Leafs take on the New York Islanders. Bolland underwent surgery for a torn tendon in his left ankle after Zack Kassians skate blade cut it during a collison in Saturday nights loss to the Vancouver Canucks. There is no timetable set for his return. In their absences, regular centres Nazem Kadri, Jay McClement and Trevor Smith will see an increased workload, while James van Riemsdyk, almost exclusively employed as a winger in his time with the Leafs, will shift to centre a line in between Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul. The 24-year-old van Riemsdyk played centre for two years at the collegiate level with the University of New Hampshire, but has NHL experience is limited. Compounding the issue of using van Riemsdyk in the circle is that he is left-handed. Because of this, its not inconceivable that Lupul could step in on the draws depending on the situation. Barring an acqusition from outside the organization to shore up the position, the team could turn to their AHL-affiliate Toronto Marlies for help. Jerred Smithson, a veteran of 588 NHL games with a career face-off percentage of just under 55 per cent, signed with the team on Wednesday and could be brought up to the big club. In more positive injury-related news for the team, Mark Fraser is ready to return. The defenceman has been sidelined with a knee injury sustained in only the second game of the season after a hit from the Philadelphia Flyers Jay Rosehill. "If it was up to me, Id like to play this weekend, hopefully on Friday," said Fraser on Wednesday. "Today was my best day yet as far as conditioning went and comfort with no pain. It was a true test as as good as Ive felt so far." Leafs coach Randy Carlyle was noncommittal as to when the club would dress Fraser. "We have decisions to make and hes not any different than any other time than when we have extra bodies," said Carlyle after Wednesdays practice. "Youre going to make the decision that you feel is best for your hockey club, give you the best chance to win." The Leafs are next in action on Friday night when they host the New Jersey Devils in the Hall of Fame game. During their talk, Lemieux was reported to have discussed with Crosby how a captains erratic behaviour can negatively impact the team.Lemieuex told Crosby... "You cant behave the way you did at the end of the game, it gives off a bad vibe to your teammates, it gives off a vibe that might be portraying you in a negative light, especially when youre struggling. http://www.thefootlockerstore.co.uk/men-s-nike-free-5-0-v4-running-shoes-light-grey-dark-brown-white.html . "Being a competitor and a guy that loves the game and tries to play with as much passion as you can, you dont ever want to come off the field," Reilly said after practice at Commonwealth Stadium. Maxime Presseaults goal at 13:59 of the second period broke a 2-2 deadlock for the Foreurs, who trailed the series 3-2 before winning back-to-back games, and Guillaume Gelinas and Pierre-Maxime Poudrier also scored. TORONTO -- Frustration was setting in for Nazem Kadri with just one goal in seven games. But after catching a break on an early second-period goal, Kadri went on to score another that ended up being the winner as the Toronto Marlies defeated the Milwaukee Admirals 3-2 in American Hockey League action Saturday. "It was a great feeling," said Kadri, the Maple Leafs seventh overall pick in 2009. "The first period I had a few chances and I was getting a little frustrated because they werent going in for. But once I got that one in the second, I felt the world fall off my shoulders." That goal gave the Marlies a 2-0 lead just 45 seconds into the second period. Simon Gysbers point shot bounced off the end boards and back in front to Kadri who snapped a shot high past the glove hand of Engren for his 12th of the season. "The past week and a half Ive been putting up four, five, six shots a game, and ringing a bunch off the post and it just hasnt been going my way," Kadri said. "Any offensive player will tell you the same -- if you get an assist or a goal early in the game you start to feel good about yourself. Youre a lot more composed with the puck and can create a lot more." With his scoring touch back, Kadri scored the winning goal with just 3:06 left in the game, deflecting a pass from Mike Zigomanis on a 2-on-1 break past Admirals goaltender Atte Engren. "When hes able to score and get some production he starts to feel a whole lot better about himself," said Marlies head coach Dallas Eakins. "He was starting to get frustrated. He hit the post, he had the goalie inside-out, but he just couldnt put it in the net, so it was nice to see him get that first one and then he drives to the net on the second one and was able to chip it in there. "When players like that are having trouble scoring, they start looking inside and asking themselves, Am I ever going to score again? I knew it was building for him, so it was a nice monkey off his back." Ryan Hamilton also scored for the Marlies, while Jussi Rynnas made 24 saves for the win. Brodie Dupont and Kyle Wilson replied for the Admirals. Atte Engren took the loss, stopping 22 shots in net. Zigomanis had three assiists to give him 57 points on the season, tops on the Marlies and ninth in the league.dddddddddddd He and Kadri have been paired together for much of the season. "We seem to work well together last year and this year," Zigomanis said. "Goals havent gone in the way weve wanted them to, but we feel like we should be able to get two, three, four goals a game ... Thats what were looking to do and we have the capability. "Im always on Naz to make the simple play. After the season he had last year and the way hes been playing in the NHL, all the teams down here in the AHL know to key on him, and Im sure hes a name brought up in the dressing room before every game. Hes got find other ways to get it done and hes been doing that." Kadri said Zigomanis has been mentoring him all season long. "Ziggys a great player and he brings a veteran presence," Kadri said. "I try to follow his lead. He knows a lot about the game. Him and I talk a lot and try to work on all aspects of our game ... Weve been working great together and I hope it keeps going." Toronto (36-21-7) opened the scoring on the power play 13:51 into the first period. A shot from Philippe Dupuis at the side of the goal ricocheted right in front to Hamilton, who whacked the puck past Engren for his team-leading 23rd goal. Milwaukee finally got on the board in the final minute of the second when Dupont stuffed in a rebound past Rynnas during a scrum around the Toronto goal. After Kadris first goal, Milwaukee (31-27-4) tied the game at two 7:43 into the third. Jonathon Blum made a beautiful pass from his own zone up the middle to Wilson, who took it at the Marlies blue-line and made a nice deke around Rynnas poke-check to score his 18th goal. It was the fourth win in a row for Toronto, which strengthened its hold atop the Northeast Division and second in the Western Conference with 79 points. Toronto plays its third game in three days when it hosts the Chicago Wolves on Sunday. Notes: Toronto came into the game tied in goals for (183) and goals against (146) with the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Barons. . . The Marlies are 36-6-5 when scoring two goals or more. . . Announced attendance was 5,807. cheap jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '
