Zlatan Ibrahimovic told ESPN FC that Paris Saint-Germain were “a little bit disappointed” after having to settle for a 1-1 draw with Monaco.

It was the match that got all of France talking, and PSG’s players talked long after midnight in the corridors of the Parc des Princes as they reflected on an opportunity missed.

Ibrahimovic, who wore the captain’s armband for most of the night following the early loss of Thiago Silva to injury, said: “We’re a little bit disappointed.

“I think we should have won the game. We were the better team, but we made one mistake and we paid for it. We had many opportunities to score, but scored only once, so the game looks like that. There’s still a lot of games to play, so we have to work harder and do better.”

PSG team-mate Ezequiel Lavezzi added: “We created so many chances, and we made all the running, but that’s not always enough in football. Today was like that. We missed too many.”

Lucas Moura -- deposed to the bench by Lavezzi’s recall to the first XI -- believed that failing to kill Monaco off was part of PSG’s own gradual improvement.

“I think we were capable of winning the game,” he said. “The draw wasn’t what we wanted, but we were playing against a great team too. We had a lot more chances to score, but lacked a bit of luck. It was our own fault that we conceded the goal -- it was a silly mistake -- but the team’s growing and evolving a lot, and we can go a long way.”

The experienced Zoumana Camara, who replaced Silva on the 15-minute mark after the Brazil captain suffered a hamstring problem, said there was a sense of satisfaction at the performance, at least, in the home side’s dressing room.

“We weren’t so bad,” he said. “If we do the same things we did today [going forward], there’s not much to add. We could be a bit more clinical, because we created plenty of chances 2013 Hyperdunk Low Sale Online. With Marco Verratti and [Thiago] Motta in the midfield, it helped us control things.”

Former Leeds defender Camara did say, however, that the evening had shown Monaco to be genuine competitors.

Lavezzi agreed with his team-mate but pointed out that PSG are bedding in a new 4-3-3 system under Laurent Blanc -- and suggested that they will be better for it.

“Of course, they’ve bought a lot of good players,” he said, “so we knew that were dangerous, but we’ve really grown as a group too, and we’ll continue to do so over the season. We’re stronger than last season, more compact.”

It was a particularly taxing night for Camara, rushed on without the luxury of a warm-up after Silva’s sudden departure, and he admitted: “The first sprint was hard.”

Nonetheless, he enjoyed the chance to battle against Monaco forward Radamel Falcao.

“He’s tough,” Camara said. “He uses his body very well, and he’s intelligent. Of course, he’s especially sharp in the penalty box. He’s not a playmaker, but whether it’s with his feet or his head, he’s dangerous.”
