Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has said Stoke must "stand up to different challenges" if they are to capitalise on the encouraging start made under new boss Mark Hughes.

The Potters gave another good account of themselves in Sunday's 3-1 defeat at Arsenal, where set-pieces led to all three of the home side's goals.

Begovic, who was linked with a move to Arsenal earlier this year, said he detected good signs for the future, adding: "We picked ourselves up after going behind early on, and we've got some good characters in the team.
"Some of our play was encouraging. We came out with some good energy in the second half. We played some good stuff, but we made mistakes and got punished. It was disappointing, but we will learn from our mistakes and try to get better."
Begovic also said he was impressed with the full debut of Marko Arnautovic, who took over from Matthew Etherington on the left wing.
